2018 is fast approaching. While we all expect to get more Walking Dead and hopefully a few good zombie movies; we can wait to get out hands on some of these new zombie video games set to be released in 2018.  While we are unsure what to expect in the horror movie genre; we have a good idea of what to expect when it comes to the new zombie video games of 2018.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead (PS4, XB1, PC)

Synopsis: Overkill’s The Walking Dead is a co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth that invites players to explore the hugely popular The Walking Dead universe, where they will play the role of survivors fending for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers. There will also be cooperative play.

Days Gone (PS4)

Synopsis:  Days Gone is an action-adventure survival horror game set in a post-apocalyptic open world environment and played from a third-person perspective. The player takes control of the game’s protagonist Deacon St. John (Samuel Witwer), a drifter and former bounty hunter who prefers to live a dangerous life on the road over living in wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic occurred which killed almost all of humanity, and transformed millions of others into “Freakers”, mindless zombie-like creatures that are quickly evolving.

State of Decay 2 (PC, Xbox One)

Synopsis:  State of Decay 2 is a zombie survival game in which gameplay is experienced from a third-person view. The game is set in an open world environment and features cooperative gameplay with up to three other players. State of Decay 2 is being developed by Undead Labs and published by Microsoft Studios. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 4. The game was announced on June 13, 2016, at Microsoft’s E3 Xbox briefing. The game was scheduled to be released in 2017 for Windows 10 and the Xbox One video game console.  At Microsoft’s E3 2017 Xbox briefing, it was announced that the game would release in 2018. Additionally, the game will also be available to play at no cost to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at the game’s release, as with all forthcoming Microsoft Studios titles.

The Last of Us Part 2 (PS4)

Synopsis: At its core, The Last of Us is still very much about Ellie and Joel, but for this reveal, we wanted to showcase several new characters that are integral to their next journey. We’re sure you have many questions after watching this scene. We’re also pretty sure that we’re going to see all sorts of theories about whom these characters are, where and when this scene takes place, and how all of this fits into Ellie and Joel’s next story.

Metal Gear Survive (PS4/XB1/PC)

Synopsis:  Metal Gear Survive is a survival action-adventure game set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective. It features a cooperative multiplayer mode, in which the player can be joined by up to three other players to explore the game’s world and to complete missions. It can also be played solo, in which the player is accompanied by three AI teammates, which the player can give orders to.

Daymare 1998 (PS4/Xb1/PC)

Synopsis:  Daymare: 1998 is a third person survival horror game with over the shoulder camera, developed in Unreal Engine 4. The game features high-end graphics, original soundtrack, immersive atmosphere, hardcore survival mechanics and many connections with the beloved old school survival horror games and ’90s landmark brands. Daymare: 1998 will be released in 2018 for PC (Steam, Windows 10), Xbox ONE and PlayStation 4 systems.

Dead Island 2 (PS4/Xb1/PC)

Synopsis: Dead Island 2 features an open world. The game takes place in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and an undisclosed third location in California, unlike the first game which was set on the island of Banoi off the coast of Papua New Guinea. The game’s combat has different mechanics than its predecessors. Dead Island 2 also includes several features from its predecessors, such as the Rage and crafting systems.

Dead Matter (PC)
